First Blog Post 8/27/2021

Hello! My name is Jenna Thompson, and I am a senior in human health biology also minoring in psychology. I am from Carl Junction, Missouri (a small town in SW Missouri) and eventually I hope to go to KU School of Medicine in Kansas City--I am currently applying, so we'll see where that goes! I am very passionate about the concept of mental health being just as important as physical health because I think it's often thought of as a secondary issue. As a provider you have to treat the whole patient, and that includes their mental state as well. Something that fascinates me about evolution is how so many people seem to think that just because we are the most developed version of our species that there is nothing our bodies could evolve to do better--there are actually a lot of thing our bodies could evolve to do better given many, many years!
